Every little kid in the second and third grade should be given the writing assignment ” what would my dog bed look like”. Here is a writing exercise that provides for creativity and imagination to take over on the sheet of paper. It would give children the opportunity to invent and explore, without restrictions, a topic that would stimulate. The writers could also be given the chance to draw and create some actual art work to illustrate their ideas. Children would now experience the power or words and art to express themselves in a short, yet creative essay. Children should also be able to express the duties of the responsible pet owner. This assignment would encourage the learning process in a very socially responsible way, especially with animals.
