Starting your vacation at the Wyobraska Museum

People who come to Nebraska for their vacations will always have a variety of options when it comes to attractions they can visit. The "Gateway to the West" is one place that truly does have something for everyone. From hiking and camping to visiting museums, you can always keep happily busy there. One of the most interesting places to visit is the Wyobraska Wildlife Museum, which is located in Gering. Here, you can see more than 500 stuffed (taxidermy) animals from all around the world. You can get closer to lions and predators than you ever thought could be possible. The museum also has quite a few rare, extinct species on display, such as an ancient rhino that stands 19 feet tall. At the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, you can find tons of great things to keep you and your child entertained the whole day. Some of the most popular animals there are the meerkats, the baboons, and the pythons. A third family destination is the Fun Plex, which is part amusement park and part water park. You can ride the roller coaster, the Ferris wheel, or any number of other rides, and then head over to the water slides to cool down.
