Living In An Age Of Invention

I’m a Baby Boomer and believe that my generation has lived through one of the most remarkable eras in history.

In my lifetime I have seen diseases such as polio almost eradicated.  Man has walked on the moon, and computers have gone from room sized to palm sized.

When I was a child homes with television sets and electric stoves were considered high tech.  Today many people watch the news on computer screens and “nuke” their food in microwaves.

All of this amazing progress is due to the incredible creativity and optimism of people.  Some of them were geniuses, but often a great invention was the result of an average person who had a conception of an invention and followed through.

If I’ve learned anything in my lifetime, it is that human beings have an almost miraculous ability to solve problems.  And I’m glad I’ve been around to watch them do it so well.
